In the Name of Aquarius is a German 7.6M€ budget co-pro series for regionalbroadcaster WDR, starring Götz Schubert in the lead role.

One of the advantages Munich-based production powerhouse Constantin Television contemplated when thinking about a 100% Belgian shoot for this series was the possibility to double Germany in Belgium of course. Hopefully small urbancenters such as Eupen’s in the Eastern Cantons (Belgium’s German speaking region) suited perfectly the director's artistic requirements. The whole production later moved to Wallonia and closer to Brussels where the biggest bulk of the shoot took place in a villa and its surroundings.

Staffed with a 90% Belgian crew, the 66 Belgian shooting days generated the optimum amount of Tax Shelter financing possible, while leaving all the postproduction budget feeding the German “spending pot”. Beside Productions’ in-house line producer François-Xavier Willems took care of the project.
