Kursk (The Command) is a 45M€ French-Belgian drama directed by Oscar-winning Thomas Vinterberg. Starring Matthias Schoenaerts, Lea Seydoux and Colin Firth, Kursk tells the tragic story of the Kursk, the nuclear submarine that sank in the Baltic sea in 2000 with 118 sailors on board.

Over 80% of the shooting days took place in Belgium's three regions under Beside Productions' responsibility. Together with a record 7,2M€ Tax Shelter contribution, Beside Productions brought the financial support of the 3 regional funds. 8 different sets represented Russia's turn-of-the-century landscape and cities. An unforgettable Summer of shoot involving 350 Belgian crew members including world-class under-water  camera operator Wim Michiels.
